Girlfriends Films regularly supports charitable causes. As in the
past, the company selects fifteen of its performers and crew members to
choose a non-profit organization to receive a donation. $1,000 is
then presented to the performer's selected charity. The only
requirement is that the charity has a "B+" rating or better by the
American Institute of Philanthropy (http://www.charitywatch.org/toprated.html).
Girlfriends Films Vice President Moose says, "With the continued
growth of Girlfriends Films, we are in a privileged position to tithe
and feel we would be remiss if we didn't. Donating in the stars names is
our way of honoring the amazing performers who dedicate so much of
their time to our studio and productions. We hope our actions will
inspire other companies to look beyond the profit margin, see the wider
world around us, and know that we have the ability to create positive
change."
In addition to those selected by its models, Girlfriends Films
selects a number of charities significant to its consumers and employees
to receive donations. A prime example is funding for cancer research
(Cancer Research Institute), which is helping tame a terrible disease
that affects a large percentage of families.
In July 2010, the studio began giving $1,000 per month to Free Speech
Coalition to help sustain the fight against those who are using legal
technicalities to abolish the adult entertainment industry. Also in
2010, Girlfriends Films donated over $5,000 to ASACP (Association of
Sites Advocating Child Protection).
Girlfriends Films was created to provide realistic lesbian-sex movies
for discerning viewers who demand the best. The studio's combination
of gorgeous performers, talented directors and aesthetic focus allows
for Girlfriends Films to continuously produce best-selling movies
appealing to both men and women. Girlfriends Films received AVN's Best
All-Girl Series award the last three years running and remains "The
Most Downloaded Studio" year after year on Hot Movies. For more
