Melissa Monet says, "The first time I walked into a Planned Parenthood facility as a young woman I was made to feel comfortable. All my fears went right out the door as a kind woman spoke to me like an adult about my sexual well-being. I knew if I was going to be sexually active, I needed to get the facts, and they were explained to me - first clinically, then with brutal honesty. It set the tone for decisions I was going to make either way; it made me more aware and taught me the importance of safety. Since my first introduction to Planned Parenthood, they have expanded their services to include so much more. Advocacy, a never-ending battle to secure our rights as human beings, has become the most important to me. I hope that others will be inspired to donate to organizations like Planned Parenthood, because tomorrow it might just be your rights on the line."
Melissa Monet's credits as a performer with Girlfriends Films include "Lesbian Seductions 23", "Mother-Daughter Exchange Club 11" and "Girlztown". She directs the ongoing "To Protect and To Serve" series.
