Giving Back 2010
Girlfriends Films Announces 2010 Charity Recipients
'Tis the season of giving, and in that spirit Girlfriends Films has completed its annual charitable gifting program. As in the past, the company has various models choose a non-profit organization that receives $1,000 donation in that model's name. The only requirement is that the charity has a "B+" rating or better by the American Institute of Philanthropy (http://www.charitywatch.org/toprated.html). We hope our actions will inspire other companies to look beyond the profit margin, see the wider world around us, and know that we have the ability to create positive change.

| Girlfriends Films has once again shared its profits with its customers by giving generously to charities, with the selections partly based on causes that are most likely to help our customers, their friends and families. LOS ANGELES — Lesbian-content production company Girlfriends Films has joined ASACP at the Corporate Sponsor level.
"Girlfriends Films believes in preventing child pornography and helping parents prevent their kids from accessing web sites meant for just for adults. Our industry is truly fortunate to have ASACP and their leadership fighting for these causes. We are more than happy to support them," Girlfriends Films president Dan O'Connell said.

LOS ANGELES — Lesbian-content production company Girlfriends Films has joined ASACP at the Corporate Sponsor level.
"And it's not just about kids and parents. The adult industry is constantly battled from many fronts — mostly religious and political — and ASACP's devotion to good causes supported by everyone on all sides goes a long way in cleaning up the industry's reputation and allowing us to continue in business."
Born from a documentary filmmaking class at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2002, Girlfriends Films prides itself on being one of the few erotic film companies offering long-form adult entertainment with its "Thornhill Diaries," which has been seen in 13 videos in four separate video series.
"The video side of the industry has always been concerned about child protection, which is why we are so pleased companies like Girlfriends Films are learning about ASACP and its mission," ASACP CEO Joan Irvine said. "Dan O'Connell is an excellent example of how to run a successful business with a social conscience. Businesses such as Girlfriends Films help to shine a positive light on the industry and we are excited to have them as a sponsor."
Founded in 1996, the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection is a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating child pornography from the Internet. ASACP also works to help parents prevent children from viewing age-inappropriate material online.

Ruby Tan of ASACP accepts a check from Girlfriends Films star Autum Moon.

Prosperous 2006 Allows Girlfriends Films to Sponsor Charitable Causes
Thanks to
our customers' strong support, Girlfriends Films enjoyed unprecedented
growth in 2006 and experienced its first profitable year. As a
consequence, we were able to make substantial donations to various
charitable organizations. In selecting the recipients, they had to have
at least an A- rating for fiscal disclosure and efficiency from the
American Institute of Philanthropy. In addition, special consideration
was given to causes that are mostly likely to directly benefit our
customers and their families. Recipients who each received $1,000 or
more from Girlfriends Films during 2006 include the following...
Almost
everyone in the GF community has a person in his or her family who has
been affected by cancer. There are a number of foundations for the
study and cure of specialized cancers but – in order to benefit as many
of our customers as possible – we wanted to fund an organization that
concerns itself with the entire spectrum of the disease. CRI has been a
sustaining force in immunology research and all kinds of cancer. The
Institute has supported more than 2,780 scientists and clinicians at
leading universities and research centers worldwide.
There are Girlfriends Films customers in every state and The Conservation Fund works in all 50 of them to preserve each region's unique natural resources, cultural heritage and historic places. The Fund and its partners have protected more than 5 million acres of America's outdoor heritage including wildlife habitat, working landscapes, rivers and wetlands and community open space.
Small School
While they probably don't want their name being associated with an adult-video company and we won't mention the place by name, we donated to a small school for autistic students located on the east coast.
Thanks to our customers for helping make positive changes in others' lives! These are your donations...we are just a conduit for getting them into good hands.
